The undefeated heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has defeated Deontay Wilder to retain his WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas.

Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder to retain the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas. The fight was an easy victory for Fury, who retained his title with a unanimous decision.

In the 11th round, Fury landed the knockout punch.

On an electrifying night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Tyson Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title with a stunning 11th-round knockout of Deontay Wilder, as their trilogy fight produced another classic.

After being downed twice in the fourth round 20 months after dethroning the American, Fury had to show all of his will and tenacity to extend his unbeaten professional record to 32 bouts.

In an exciting third, Fury left his opponent sprawling, only for Wilder to rebound and the Briton to find himself on the receiving end of the Bronze Bomber’s massive right hand twice in short succession.

Wilder was holding on by the end of the seventh round, but it was still a grueling battle by the tenth, when Fury knocked him down again, before landing the knockout punch in the eleventh to finish this chapter of heavyweight boxing.

“I got wounded a few of times,” Fury said. “Wilder is a powerful puncher.”

“It was a fantastic battle.” I’m not going to make any excuses; Wilder is a great boxer who gave me a good battle. I usually claim that I am the greatest fighter in the world and that he is a close second.

“Never, ever, ever mistrust me. I can always deliver when the chips are down.”

Fury demonstrates that he is unbeatable.

This wasn’t the match Fury wanted, but it provided the blockbuster fight the Las Vegas fans craved following a contentious draw in their first encounter in 2018 and a seventh-round knockout by Fury last time out.

Tensions had been building throughout fight week, and they only grew when Wilder’s delayed entrance left the audience waiting, until the lights went down and the American, who blamed his defeat to Fury last year on his extravagant and heavy ring-walk costume, appeared in a more modest fur-lined gown.

But what’s a few minutes when this epic battle has been brewing for almost a year?

As both combatants went inside the ropes for the first time since their spectacular encounter at the MGM Grand in February 2020, Fury, dressed as a Roman centurion, followed to the beat of AC/DC.

That was before the epidemic, and the Morecambe-based boxer was encouraged by the thousands of UK supporters who had flocked to Las Vegas to cheer them on, but travel restrictions meant the British hopeful would never get the same raucous reception this time.

The local crowd, on the other hand, couldn’t help but be impressed by Fury as he once again demonstrated that, despite being on the canvas, you can never write this guy off.

Wilder came out swinging with a flurry of body shots from the opening bell, while Fury took his time sizing up a retooled opponent who, according to new trainer Malik Scott, has more tools in his toolbox than previously displayed.

The initial summer bout date was abandoned after Fury contracted Covid-19 and was hastily rescheduled for October, and Fury then had to hurry back to the UK to be with wife Paris for the birth of their sixth child, Athena.

The American had also narrowed the weight difference, and despite Fury weighing 39 pounds more than Wilder, both men were at their heaviest in their professional careers, weighing 19st 11lbs to Wilder’s 17st.

After Wilder’s quick opening exchange and a big left-right combo put the Alabaman to the ground, Fury started to dominate.

As the expectation of an upset increased, the 35-year-old survived the count and, reinvigorated by the bell, dropped Fury with a massive right of his own and followed it up with another to send the champion falling once again in the same round.

Fury, on the other hand, surged from there, and a tenacious Wilder hung on for many rounds until the champion hit a right to finish the fight after 11 thrilling rounds.

‘I am my generation’s best heavyweight champion.’

Fury has risen to every obstacle thrown his his, but he must defeat Oleksandr Usyk to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000.

The Ukrainian seems to be poised to fight Anthony Joshua in a rematch to see whether the Briton can reclaim his WBF, IBF, and WBO titles, but there is no question in Fury’s opinion who is the best heavyweight of this exciting age.

He said, “I have shown time and time again that I can never be written off.” “I didn’t put on my greatest show, but I pulled it out of the bag when it was time.”

“He kept getting up, but it was that last right hand to the side of his skull that put an end to him.”

“I was unharmed.” When you’re struck, you’re knocked out and fall to the ground. I got out of bed and was extremely aware the whole time. Throughout the battle, I was one punch away from knocking him out.

“Without a doubt, I am the greatest heavyweight champion of my generation. First and foremost. You will be burnt if you play with fire for a long time.”
