Spider-Man: No Way Home may be the most anxiously awaited picture of the year, and fans received a new teaser for the film on Tuesday night that revealed a lot of new details. The new trailer, which was unveiled at a special in-theater fan event in Los Angeles and then shared online, provided the best look yet at the upcoming Tom Holland-starring film, which is set to hit theaters on December 17th, and featured the film’s villains, Spider-“Magic” Man’s suit, a chilling nod to Gwen Stacy, and more.
There were a few things that fans hoped for that the teaser didn’t disclose – after all, certain surprises must be saved for the film – but the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer still has a lot to unpack. Here’s a quick rundown of the major takeaways, and if you see something we didn’t, please let us know in the comments!
On December 17th, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released.
In action with the magical outfit
The new teaser offers enough for fans to love, including fresh action and new glimpses at villains, as well as a sneak peek at Spider-new Man’s costumes, including a “Integrated Suit” that resembles the Iron Spider suit from Infinity War but incorporates Doctor Strange’s magic. The trailer shows us the “magic suit” in action, which is rather thrilling.

Near the conclusion of the teaser, Zendaya’s MJ falls from the scaffolding, leading Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to plunge down in an effort to rescue her. It’s not just a dramatic scene, but it’s also a terrifying one for Marvel fans, since it recalls Gwen Stacy’s death, a crucial event in Spider-comic Man’s book history that has been shown in earlier Spider-Man films but never before in the MCU.
Of course, the trailer goes to black before we learn about MJ’s fate (and fans are already predicting that Andrew Garfield’s Spidey will appear at the last second to rescue MJ), but it’s an intriguing homage to a pivotal point in Spider-saga. Man’s

Electro, Green Goblin, Sandman, and Lizard all make a comeback.
While there had been rumors that some of the film’s antagonists might return, the latest trailer confirmed it. Doc Ock is joined by Electro, Green Goblin, Sandman, and Lizard in his struggle against Tom Holland’s youthful Spider-Man. Willem Dafoe’s portrayal of the Green Goblin was the first on-screen Spidey nemesis. He was the major enemy in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man film from 2002, and he reappeared in two more films’ visions. Otto Octavious, played by Molina, was the villain in Spider-Man 2. In Spider-Man 3, Thomas Haden Church played Sandman, one of Tobey Maguire’s ultimate enemies.
In 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, Rhys Ifans played Lizard alongside Andrew Garfield in the title character. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tried to build a full Sinister Six, but Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, was the main villain.

Green Goblin’s new outfit
The new teaser not only confirmed that Green Goblin is returning, but it also showed that he would be wearing a new outfit. For a short moment, Goblin can be seen flying across the skies, launching his signature pumpkin bombs at what is very certainly Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and his companions below. The villain’s signature Goblin hat is conspicuously missing from his outfit. After Electro’s spectacular new appearance unveiled in the teaser, this makes two returning villains to gain new looks.

Captain America gets a new homage.

Some of the most intriguing aspects of Spider-Man: No Way Home might be found in the trailer’s background details, rather than in the trailer’s main action. One of the specifics was that Steve Rogers, Captain America, would be honored with a huge memorial via renovations to the Statue of Liberty. A banner detailing proposed alterations to the renowned monument can be seen briefly in the film, including the addition of a shield instead of the flame the figure is famed for holding. The shield can be seen when Spider-Man spins around the scaffolding and takes on his new opponents later in the film. It falls from the arm that is meant to be holding it at one point. The flame is still there; it is just designed to be hidden by the shield.
