Clifford the Big Red Dog will finally debut on Nov. 10 after years of production and postponed release dates. As you can see in the final clip below, certain pets have a way of growing on you.
According to the official synopsis: “Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a mystical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gives her a cute red puppy, but she never expected to wake up to a ten-foot hound in her tiny New York City apartment. Emily and her entertaining but impetuous uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set off on a journey that will have you on the edge of your seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple while her single mother (Sienna Guillory) is away on business. Clifford, based on the popular Scholastic book character, will show the world how to love large!”

Walt Becker directs Clifford the Big Red Dog. Jay Sherick, David Ronn, and Blaise Hemingway wrote the script, which is based on a movie scenario by Justin Malen and Ellen Rapoport. Jordan Kerner, p.g.a. and lole Lucchese produced, with Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer, Valerii An, Brian Bell, Caitlin Friedman, Deborah Forte, and Lisa Crnic serving as executive producers. The film is based on Norman Bridwell’s Sholastic book series Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong, and John Cleese are among the cast members. We also get a nice look of Kenan Thompson as a veterinarian in the final trailer. Thompson previously told The Knockturnal about his involvement in the film: “I’m playing Clifford’s veterinarian, who they take him to because they’re trying to find out what’s wrong with him and why he’s suddenly become red. I’m not sure whether he starts off a different hue, but we’re not sure why he’s so huge and red.”
“I believe it’s a cherished series brought to life,” Thompson said, “so whenever [a new adaptation] occurs, it’s always thrilling.” “I’m sure we’ll get the word out on the name, and then it’ll be up to us to give an amazing watching experience, which hopefully people will. I’m having a good time with my scenes, so ideally it’ll be two hours or an hour and twenty minutes, depending on how long the audience can take it.”
The film has a running duration of one hour and 36 minutes. For unpleasant comedy, thematic themes, and light action, it is classified PG. It was originally scheduled to be released in September, but it was postponed as Paramount Pictures considered the best manner to distribute the adaptation. As a consequence, the film will be released on a day-and-date basis next month, offering audiences the choice of seeing it on the large screen or at home. On November 10, 2021, Clifford the Big Red Dog will be released in cinemas and on Paramount+.
