Michael Jordan is one of the most famous athletes in the world, but not many people know that he takes great pride in his appearance. He’s so obsessed with his appearance that he would rather donate his used underwear than wear it. It’s an interesting story seeing Jordan’s used underwear, which he has donated to charity after he wore them out.
In 2010, a set of Michael Jordan’s used undergarments, consisting of a pair of basketball shorts, a pair of basketball shoes, a sweat shirt worn during the 2009-2010 season, a pair of basketball socks, a basketball belt, a pair of basketball shorts worn during the 2000-2001 season, a pair of basketball shoes, a baseball cap, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of boxing gloves, a pair of wristbands and a pair of wristbands worn during the 1999-2000 season went up for sale. The auction ended up selling for over $500. Michael Jordan’s Used Underwear Are Going to Cost a Collector At Least $500
In a recent interview, Michael Jordan revealed that he still has all of his used underwear. Before you scoff, consider the fact that the NBA legend has been a prominent collector of his own used underwear for years. As a result, he has quite a large and interesting collection of his own used undergarments.
Michael Jordan’s playing career ended nearly 20 years ago, yet he remains a major figure in basketball history. His Airness is at the top of the sport’s pantheon due to his superhuman skill and tremendous success; even if you don’t believe he’s the GOAT, you have to agree he was a great player. As a result, everything associated with Michael Jackson has become extremely valuable to collectors. It seems like everyone wants a piece of the living legend.
Take, for instance, one of the objects now up for sale. You may be the happy owner of a pair of Jordan’s old underpants if you’re prepared to spend at least $500.
Michael Jordan had a famous basketball career, thus everything associated with him is historically significant.
Michael Jordan now reigns supreme in popular culture. In some ways, His Airness is no longer a man; he’s a real-life basketball god with a highlight reel that might go on for hours. But, at the end of the day, it all began with his physical prowess.
MJ had an outstanding career, at the risk of stating the obvious. The shooting guard was successful at every stage of his career because to a combination of skill and inner fire. He won an NCAA championship at North Carolina, then joined the Chicago Bulls and began winning individual awards almost immediately. Six titles followed when he defeated the Detroit Pistons and their “Jordan Rules.”
While it is a condensed view of his career — listing every achievement, award, and average would take a long time — it does provide a sense of Jordan’s dominance. As a result, everything associated with the former Chicago Bulls great has become extremely valuable.
Several Jordan-related artifacts, including numerous pairs of shoes, have been auctioned and sold for large sums of money throughout the years. Take, for example, a collection of nine Michael Jordan artifacts that went up for auction in 2020, including a pair of Air Jordans the star wore in a scrimmage. According to CNN, the entire bundle sold for $931,875, including buyers’ fees, with the headline sneakers fetching $615,000, the highest price ever paid for a single pair of shoes at auction.
A pair of Michael Jackson’s old underpants is now up for sale.
Purchasing a pair of Michael Jordan’s game-worn sneakers makes sense in certain ways. While there are probably better ways to spend $600,000, MJ is inextricably associated with basketball shoes. A pair of underpants, on the other hand, has a distinct feel.
Those searching for a Jordan collectable, on the other hand, may find such underwear to be a more inexpensive choice. The Lelands just received a pair of compression shorts. There is currently just one bid on the item, which is valued at $500 as of August 31.
According to the lot description, “unusual item exhibits obvious usage as this pair of underwear/compression shorts was worn by Michael Jordan with some loose threads visible at the seams.” “It also includes a dry cleaning tag inside with the last name ‘Wozniak’ as well as a tag that reads Michael Jordan, with the famous last name on the waistline, originating from a family member of MJ’s ‘Last Dance’ security guard John Michael Wozniak. This is only one of several things in this auction that were given to Wozniak by Michael Jackson personally, including suits, ties, belts, and jackets.”
Wozniak was one of Jordan’s security guards and personal friends, according to the article. He’ll be remembered by viewers of The Last Dance as the guy who defeated Michael Jackson at his own game before imitating his iconic shrug for the camera.
It’s unclear what the ultimate pricing of the underwear will be at this time. However, if past auctions are any indicator, any Air Jordan will fetch a high price.
Michael Jordan’s response to the question of whether he should wear boxers or briefs was reportedly “neither.”

However, this isn’t the first time Michael Jordan has been associated with underpants. His Airness was previously featured in a famous Hanes ad centered on his underwear, as fans of a certain generation will recall.
A couple of ladies sat on a park bench in that advertisement, debating whether they are wearing boxers or briefs. When Jordan passes, though, they are too star-struck to provide an opinion. “They’re Hanes,” MJ tells the pair, unconcerned by the scenario. Let’s just leave it at that,” she said, smiling as she walked away.
While we never got an answer to the age-old question during the ad, this auction does provide us a look into Jordan’s personal life. He seems to have opted for the third alternative and used compression shorts in certain circumstances.
