We’ve all heard the right-on clichés about how we should do things better, and we should end things we don’t like with a bit of dignity. That’s great if you’re a celebrity or a politician, but what about the rest of us? Whether it’s a relationship, a job, a hobby, or a TV show, it’s hard to walk away from something we’ve fallen in love with.
On the morning of my departure for the States, the weather turned to the point where it was overcast and pouring rain. It could have been so much worse, but I was glad I decided to go home the night before to apply the finishing touches to my suitcase. As I was getting ready to leave, I found a letter tucked inside my mirror. It was written by my friend to me, and it was the sweetest, most thoughtful letter I have ever received.

If you watched our Gamescom Opening Night coverage and are a fan of the shooter Halo Infinite, you’ll notice that the game only featured a cinematic opening to its campaign and no real gameplay. That’s because, according to a developer blog from 343 Industries’ head of creative Joseph Staten, the team is working nonstop to make the game’s December 8th launch the best it can be.
“We’re at a crucial point in Halo Infinite’s journey, so avoiding distractions and focusing only on mission-essential activities is critical. For Campaign, this means putting in the most effort possible to make the wide-open, adventure-filled experience you’ll all get to enjoy on December 8th the best it can be. And making good gameplay demonstrations and trailers not only takes a lot of time, but it also takes time away from bugs and other shutdown tasks.”
The message ends with the assurance that the game’s campaign is running well, as staten is attempting a 100 percent completion playthrough, which includes discovering all of the items and accomplishing all of the main and secondary objectives. Fans will get additional information in the August 2021 insider digest, including data from the game’s technical test, inside interviews with the developers, and more for those who are interested.
